How It Works

After your reservation is confirmed, you’ll receive a message containing your personalized Zengen Vacation Services link. From there, you can easily access your customized portal to reserve the gear your group wants for your stay.

You can select great vacation gear items such as:

  • Stand-up paddleboards
  • Beach chairs and umbrellas
  • And more

Guests will also have access to exclusive discounts on some of the most popular Outer Banks experiences, including:

Asked questions

1. How do I order gear for my stay?

After your reservation with Preserve Property Co. is confirmed, you will receive a message with a link to your personalized Zengen Vacation Services Portal. From there, you can browse available gear and experiences and place your order online.

2. When will my gear be delivered?

All rental gear is delivered directly to your vacation home on your check-in day and picked up after your departure. For weekend deliveries, all items will be delivered between 1:00pm and 8:00pm on the day of your arrival if your order is complete 2 days prior to check–in date. Weekday deliveries occur around midday.

3. What time will you pick up the items? Do I need to be at the property?

Items will be picked up by noon on the morning of your departure. You do not have to be present at the time of pickup, but they ask that guests leave all items outside, similarly to how they were delivered.

4. What types of gear can I rent?

Guests can reserve a wide range of beach and vacation equipment, including bikes, surfboards, stand-up paddleboards, beach chairs, umbrellas, beach carts, and more.

5. How do the guest discounts work?

Preserve Property Co. guests can receive up to $125 off gear orders over $250. The discount will be automatically applied when ordering through your Zengen portal.

6. What if my home includes rental gear credit?

Select homes include $250 or more in gear credit, which can be used toward equipment rentals through the Zengen portal. Homes that include this credit will be clearly marked when booking.

7. Can I book local experiences through the portal?

Yes. In addition to gear rentals, guests can also reserve discounted popular local experiences such as sailing cruises, jet ski rentals, fishing charters, golf cart rentals, and beach setup services.

8. When should I place my order?

We recommend placing your order as soon as possible after receiving your portal link to ensure availability of gear for your stay. If you wait until just before your vacation, some popular items may not be available.

9. What do I do if I have mechanical trouble with a bike or any other equipment (flat tire, chain falls off, snapped surfboard leash)?

While these mishaps are rare, all you’ll need to do is contact your vendor, and they’ll come fix your equipment or replace it. Vendor contact information can be found on your Zengen confirmation email. Your gear vendor will also contact you via text on your delivery day. You can simply reply to that message with any questions.
