We love visiting this home
We love visiting this home! This is the second time we have stayed here and can’t wait to stay again. We walk to the coffee shop on the corner every morning for coffee and then walk to the beach for the day. Everything else is so close as well – shopping and restaurants! The house is perfect for my husband, son, and I to stay downstairs and my parents to stay upstairs. The house is spotless and they have thought of everything you might need! Such a wonderful place for a beach getaway.

This was our second time booking here and it just reminded us why we fell in love with it the first time. The location is perfect, the beds are comfy, Ashleys and 1903 within walking distance is so convenient for coffee and a quick bite to eat. We'll 100% be back next year and probably the year after, I think booking here will be our OBX tradition.

Beautiful location so close to the beach. We loved sitting on the deck, watching the waves and sunsets. And we so appreciated the gated yard and deck for our puppies to enjoy this cozy cottage with us. We throughly enjoyed cooking in the well appointed and open kitchen. Mattresses could have been firmer and bedding/towels a little more plush, but a very small point. Perfect week at the beach, even despite Hurricane Erin (loved watching the gnarly waves from such a close vantage point). Thank you for having our little family stay at the most adorable house in Kill Devil Hills.

This is our third year in a row staying in OBX at Born to Sun
This is our third year in a row staying in OBX at Born to Sun. We love this beach house like it is our own. The proximity to the beach is ideal for our 14 year old Chiweenie, who loves running on the beach but gets tired easily now. The home is well kept, has everything you need for a relaxing stay, is on a quiet street but near anything you could need. Brittany is always incredibly proactive, providing all necessary info before you even step foot in the home. We will continue to be back due to our consistently positive experiences.

We loved Born to Sun!!! It was the perfect size house for our family of 4. Close to the beach & all kinds of entertainment for family activities! Cannot wait to come back again!

This was a wonderful beach stay. Very close to the beach - we had not realized from the photos that you can see the beach from the deck. Really great beach stay with a half block walk to the beach and chairs and sun umbrella available while we were there. Cute decor - very nice house.

This was a fantastic place
This was a fantastic place. Linens and bathroom were very clean. So close to the beach, it was fast and easy to get to every day. There were a lot of wonderful amenities like dishwasher tabs, toilet paper and paper towels. The only thing I would have liked was a big comforter or something for the nights. Brittany was so helpful and kind.

We loved staying here! The location truly is just steps to the beach. The house is even more spacious than it appears in the photos and provided our family plenty of room to stretch out. It has everything you need for a great time in the Outer Banks!

We really enjoyed our stay
We really enjoyed our stay. The location is literally perfect. The beach is SO close. If you have middle schoolers, they can easily walk back and forth. Can’t emphasize enough the perfect location. We walked to the coffee shop on the corner twice and enjoyed it. The muffins and coffees were incredible. 10/10. The only “issue” we had was the downstairs staying quite cold while the upstairs was warmer so we couldn’t figure out how to regulate that. Owners offered to help but we were close to checkout time so it was ok. My only suggestion would be one more chair in the living space or possibly a loveseat in place of the single chair. Otherwise, everyone was comfortable. The fenced in yard is small but efficient for a dog to do its business. It a nice benefit!

Perfect place for the 4th of July with two teens! Easy access to the beach, a coffee shop and ice cream place! Such a cute cottage-well appointed kitchen, had what we needed for beach. Only thing missing was a usable grill. Otherwise we thought it was perfect. Had a couple of issues while we were there (dirty linens-linen company, and leaky roof)-hosts were VERY responsive. Both addressed immediately. Also, would note, that although we are pet friendly, we did not bring our furbabies. Considering this house allows dogs, it’s very well maintained and cleaned. Appreciated that! Would definitely stay again! Thank you!

The place was absolutely perfect for our family! It was located in a great location - less than a block from the beach and was near several restaurants. Brittany did a great job of providing dining suggestions and the place had everything we needed. I wouldn’t hesitate to go back or recommend to anyone.

Beautiful place and amazing location, Literally 1/2 a block from beach access, what more can you ask for?! The beds are so comfy, we definitely enjoyed a meal or 2 outside on the deck, having the table and chairs is such a nice touch, plus having perfect weather with a nice breeze coming off the ocean certainly helped. The fenced in yard is so convenient with the pups, I think they spent more time outside than inside which typically isn't the case when taking trips with pets. We try to make it down to Obx at least once a year and in the past have always gone the Hotel route since we're a small family renting a house never seemed feasible. Now that I know that this Airbnb has rates that are priced in same ball park as a hotel suite while getting an entire place... we're never looking back. Overall, such a great experience, not a single negative thing for say, we will be 100000% rebooking in the future.

This is our second time at Born to Sun and it met our previously high expectations. The location is perfect, mere steps from the beach. Our 13 year old chiweenie, Ted, had such a great time last year we had to come back for a Tedcation! He remembered the house immediately when we walked in and was right at home. The place is very clean and the kitchen comes well stocked. We cooked many meals at home. The hosts have plenty of beach amenities to use - chairs, umbrellas, wagon etc. We come during off season and basically have a private beach! Close driving distance to many activities and sights OBX has to offer. Neighborhood is quiet and we really feel at home in this rental. Looking forward to coming back again for year 3!

Visiting the Outer Banks in March can be a bit tricky navigating the hit-or-miss weather. But my teenager, our puppers, and myself took the risk for his spring break however, knowing it would be a very different type of beach vacation than in the heat of summer. It was cold, it was windy, and it was WONDERFUL!! I picked Brittany's place because it looked so very warm and cozy if we had to stay in a bit due to the weather and it DID NOT disappoint! And the windows!! Everywhere! And though you are not directly on the water, it is close enough to HEAR and SMELL the ocean with enough view through the dunes and minimal houses. And seriously, just steps to the beach, no exaggeration like some other listings. It is obvious someone took the time and care to renovate this place for a modern yet warm and inviting feel. And the kitchen! Gorgeous! And loaded with everything you could possibly need. Oh and soo dog friendly!! They thought of everything!

The house is conveniently located steps to the beach and is super cozy. The location is easily accessible to tons of great restaurants. Brittany was a super host, as usual!
We had a great stay
We had a great stay! The house is in an amazing location - short walk to the beach. There is also a coffee shop down the street that has excellent coffee! We were traveling with two under 3, and the house was perfect for us. Not many obstacles for them and it was a child safe environment! They really loved the buggy provided and wanted rides to the beach constantly! Unfortunately, the oven was not working during our stay which hindered some of my meal planning, but Brittany communicated that upfront. We will definitely stay again if the opportunity presents itself!

We had a wonderful time and the house has a cute rustic coastal vibe, and very clean with a great ocean view. It was perfect for our small group. The beach was steps away and the weather was perfect all week. Water activities within 10 minutes of house that included jet ski rental and the dolphin boat tour. Coffee cafe was a few houses down and Restaurants were very close. Dinner had to be early to avoid long wait times, but that is to be expected at the beach. Everything you could need is at this house. Brittany was quick to assist us with any questions we had. We definitely recommend this house for all, and for your fur babies it is a perfect setup.

Our family loved this house! It was the perfect location and size for our small family and our dog. Being so close to the beach was especially helpful with children. We also had a hurricane one of the days and the hosts were great about communicating with us. They were very responsive throughout our entire stay. Looking forward to returning again!

We loved staying at Born to Sun. It was perfect for our family of 6 (3 adults and 3 children) and 1 dog. It was very clean on checkin. The photos and description were accurate. The kitchen was well appointed with everything we needed to cook our meals. And it was great to have the bicycles and beach chairs. And so close to the beach! And really appreciated having the fenced area for the dog. Thank you!

The description said that the property was steps from the beach, well sometimes you think to yourself...sure...sure it is...well in the case of 'Born to Sun' it certainly was just steps to the beach. With two small kids and a dog, being close to the beach benefitted our family so much. The property was nicely decorated, and well appointed, outdoor shower (with hot & cold water) was great, the 1st floor deck was so nice to be able to have an early breakfast to watch the sunrise and an evening drink after its cooled off for the day. Overall this is a solid 4.6 to 4.8 rated property and I'd highly suggest that you check it out.
We loved our recent stay
We loved our recent stay! The cottage was so cute and perfect for our family of four and our pup. The gated deck gave him a perfect spot to lounge in the sun. The location is fantastic! This cottage is the closest we've been to the beach without staying right on the beach- it was just a short walk to the access. And because there's no public parking lot on this street, the beach wasn't crowded at all. We walked to Amy's Espresso for iced coffee most mornings and really appreciated the fact that there's a sidewalk (helpful with a dog!) and that the surrounding neighborhood was quiet.

Our family had a great time at OBX. The location is great, close to the beach but near restaurants, coffee shops, and other things to do with the kids. The space is perfect with enough room for our two young kids and French bulldog! We look forward to staying again!!

The house was very comfortable, updated, and clean with nice ocean views and easy access to beach. The deck had a gate which was great for letting our dog hang out with us! We enjoyed sitting in the deck and the furniture was very comfortable in and out of the house. Good value and great location! All instructions were clear which made the check-in/check-out process very easy. Brittany was a very responsive and helpful host.
This was my family’s first trip to OBX and we could not have been happier with the space
This was my family's first trip to OBX and we could not have been happier with the space. The house is extremely spacious and so close to the beach. We appreciated the welcome bag of wine, coffee, and the cute postcard with a painting of the house. The place was super clean and the kitchen was amazing. We cooked all of our meals there. We were there for the Fourth of July and were able to view the fireworks right outside on the deck. As advertised, this is a pet friendly Airbnb and our two dogs enjoyed their stay as well. We did the sushi making experience and it was really cool, if you enjoy sushi you should definitely try it out!
